We recently arrived in the Karamoja region in northern Uganda, where deaths from starvation have occurred. More than 500 people lost their lives due to hunger and starvation-related diseases in the region, where wetlands have dried up and agriculture and animal husbandry have come to an end after the drought that has been going on for months. We have been operating in Uganda since 2011 and through the Sena Foundation, our stakeholder organization in the country, we took immediate action and delivered food aid to the families of victims who were trying to survive by eating tree leaves and bark.
